Starting a Tanning Salon Business
.
Tanning salons are a hot small business today. The thing is, a tanning salon is not suitable for a home business or for a part-time business. So if you commit to a tanning salon business, you will need to realize that you are going to need a business location and all that the business location entails, and that you will not be able to keep a job to help pay the bills until your tanning salon business gets off the ground.
.
Another thing to consider about a tanning salon business is that it is not a cheap business to start. It has been estimated that the cost of overhead for a tanning salon is upwards of $115,000 per year. ONE tanning bed can cost anywhere from $750 to $10,000. You MUST have liability insurance as well, because mishaps with tanning beds can and do happen. You will need at least one employee (a secretary/receptionist), and possibly two. Unless you can operate the tanning beds yourself, you will need to employ a person who has experience in the operation of tanning beds.
.
The location of a tanning salon is a major consideration. You must have a building with enough floor space to accommodate the equipment, and you must also have enough parking area surrounding the building to accommodate the cars of your customers. Additionally, you can expect a very large electric bill every month. Tanning beds use a lot of power.
.
So here is the bottom line: Starting a tanning salon can be beneficial financially in the long run. There is a large demand for tanning salon services. And it can be lots of fun to operate a tanning salon, but the startup and operating costs are high.

What I do is take one subject that I am interested in and study it until I have it down cold and can incorporate it somehow into my business. What you DONT want to do is learn something half-baked and try to incorporate it into your business. If you dont really know what youre doing with it, youll end up either not getting any results at all or worse, making a mess of things.

Don”t Take Everything You Hear As Gospel - Including this thread. That”s right. This is just one man”s opinion. Whatever you hear, whatever is said to you, take it with a grain of salt and from the source from which it came. In the final analysis, do your own testing of a theory. Some things are more obvious than others. Others will take some doing to really get down to the truth. Even the part of this thread that says focus on one thing. Hell, some people can do 10 things at once and do them all well. I don”t know how. I can”t. But again, see what works for you.
